Amazing Pie with ricotta (Video)

Fantastic recipe for pie with ricotta. Not typical pie recipe, but very tasty. Very good decision for holidays, especially for Christmas. This pie is not very sweet, so it is a suitable decision for people who don’t like too many sweets.

Very tasty Italian recipe for pie with ricotta. It is not so easy to prepare, but the result is worth it. The chocolate drops are optional. They add some rich taste and better vision when you serve it.
You need a pie pan, one big bowl for the dough preparing and one for ricotta filling. You will need a rolling pin too.

Ingredients

  • Crust
  • 4 Eggs, medium

  • 2 cups Flour

  • 2/3 cup Sugar

  • 2 tsp. Baking powder

  • 75 g. Butter

  • 1 tsp. Vanilla

  • Ricotta filling
  • 8 Eggs, medium

  • 600 g. Ricotta

  • 1 cup Sugar

  • 2 tsp. Vanilla

  • 25 g. Chocolate drops or grated chocolate /optional/

Directions

  • Start
    Start with crust preparation. Combine the dry ingredients. Flour, sugar, baking powder and vanilla. Add the melted butter. Stir. Add the beaten eggs. Mix the dough by hand until ready.
    Separate the dough into two parts, wrap it in plastic foil, and leave it to rest for 30 minutes.Pie with ricotta

    Start with preparing the ricotta filling. Beat the eggs with the sugar. Add the ricotta and vanilla. Add chocolate drops or grated chocolate, if you prefer.
    Preheat the oven to 150 C.
    Take one part from the dough and make one circle with the rolling pin. Make it bigger than the pie pan size. Put it in the pie pan.
    Pour out the ricotta filling over the dough in the pan.
    Make a new circle from the second dough part. Cut with a knife in thin strips to cover the filling. Make 8–10 strips and put them on a cross. Start with the middle. Don’t worry if the strips don’t cover the entire pie.
    You need to cover the edges of the pan when you put it in. When you’re ready, pour out the ricotta filing. Put in the oven.

  • Finish
    Cover the pan with foil to prevent very fast burning of the pie. Bake for 20 minutes. After that, remove the foil and bake for a further 20 minutes. Check the pie with a toothpick. Check in the middle. If the toothpick is clean, the pie is ready. Leave it cooling and take it out from the pie pan. Pie with ricotta

    Put powdered sugar on the top to finish before serving. Now you have amazing vision. Enjoy with the family and the friends.🥰
