minutesFor the recipe of pie, you only need flour, sugar, and butter for the dough. The fruits for the core are up to you, and you are free for different combinations. You need a pie pan for backing, a bowl for dough preparation, and a bowl to unfreeze the fruits. If you don’t have a pie pan, can use a standard tray with medium size.
It is fantastic with different types of fruit, but here it is with berries and sour cherries. They give it a very nice sour taste, and it is delicious.
Ingredients
700 g. Berries with sour cherries, frozen
350 g. Flour
200 g. Butter
250 g. White sugar
2/3 cup Water
1 tbsp. Starch
1 Vanilla powder
Lemon peel, grated /from 1 lemon/
Directions

Put the fruits into the bowl to unfreeze them. You will need to 2 hours at room temperature (depends on fruits). It is better to leave them in the fridge for one night. Squeeze the fruit juice from the bowl. Too much juice will soak into the dough and it won’t bake well.
In the other bowl, mix the flour, butter and half of the sugar. - Cooking
Start to add water and mix with fingers until a homogeneous dough is obtained. Put the 2/3 of the dough in the pie pan and spread it evenly with your fingers.
To the fruits, add the rest of the sugar, the vanilla powder, the starch, and the lemon peel and stir. Pour over the dough. - Finish
Make thin stripes from the rest of the dough and put them on a cross over the fruits. Bake in a preheated to 180 C oven for 45 minutes. - Serve
Serve with vanilla ice cream or mascarpone balls.
